Worthy

So, as I was praying this morning, and even later as I was worshiping at an event I attended, the Lord began to give me revelation concerning the word worthy. When I was using the word worthy in worship, he reminded me of a scripture:
45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.
46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Matthew 13:45-46

As the pearl in this scripture was of such great worth that the merchant sold everything he had to obtain it, likewise is the kingdom. This merchant knew that this pearl was so valuable that none of his earthly possessions were worth having more than that pearl. Jesus' parable is totally parallel to the attitude that we should have toward the Lord. That word valuable is translated as precious and very costly. We have to acknowledge that the Lord is indeed precious, and that he is worth more than the value of everything else we have. There is NOTHING in our lives more valuable than the Lord himself. When we acknowledge this, we won't continue to seek out satisfaction in everything else, only to still be left dissatisfied. And we won't grieve the Lord by putting other things before Him.

So when we sing "Worthy is the Lamb" let us do it with knowledge. And let us worship Him with that song in spirit and in truth, for "Worthy is the Lamb!"

In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"
Revelation 5:12
